1. The surface of the foundation soil should be free of mud, water, stones, tree roots, debris and other substances that can damage the GCL (GCL) or the upper layer of geosynthetics.

2. The surface of the foundation soil needs to be flat, uniform and the slope and elevation are within the allowable error range specified in the relevant earthwork technical specifications. The quality of the base surface should meet the design requirements: the bottom surface of the foundation pit, the slope surface and its slope ratio, the solid laid on the side slope, and the treatment of the junction between the slope surface and the bottom surface should all strictly meet the design requirements.

The base surface should facilitate the laying of GCL (GCL), HDPE geomembrane and geotextile. The base surface should be dry, compacted, smooth, without cracks, without obvious spikes, depressions, and there should be no roots, rubble, stones, steel heads, glass chips within a vertical depth of 25mm.
